From SortiesJazzNights.com. Thanks, Claude!
We had a blast performing songs from our new album, The Chick Corea Songbook, along with a few chestnuts like “Route 66” and “Birdland” on Thursday September 24, 2009. A great group of fans and old friends came by to listen and say hello.
We also did a signing of the new CD. It was a little bit of a time warp, signing other material that people brought for us to sign, like tons of our old albums… ON VINYL!!! Fantastic. People brought some old posters, photos and other memorabilia that we haven’t seen in years. It was great fun signing our way along memory lane.
Thanks again to all for coming by to support us and the new album. We were thrilled with the turnout and all the terrific vibes people brought with them.
The Chick Corea Songbook, which marks our first new record in five years, was inspired by the classic work of jazz great Chick Corea, and features fresh and exciting vocal interpretations of many of his popular compositions, including “Spain” and “500 Miles High.”
