LADIES AND GENTLEMEN… MARGARET DORN!
TMT NEWS – The Manhattan Transfer would like to welcome back the lovely, Margaret Dorn (aka Mad Meg). Margaret stood in for Cheryl a couple of years ago and will now be touring with TMT while CB under goes another round of chemotherapy this winter. We’re very glad to have her back (however, wishing it was under better circumstances) and would like to re-introduce her to you all now…
Margaret Dorn – Margaret Dorn is an award-winning vocalist, composer, arranger and producer whose work has encompassed the worlds of theater, recording, film soundtracks, television, commercials, industrials and concert tours!
An accomplished singer, Margaret has released two solo albums in Europe and has performed with a myriad of artists, including Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Lionel Richie, Michael Feinstein, Boz Scaggs, Willie Nelson, kd lang, Donald Fagen, Barry Manilow, Lucie Arnaz, Carly Simon, Garth Brooks, Michael MacDonald, Diana Ross and The Chieftains. In 2011, she got the call to sub for soprano, Cheryl Bentyne of The Manhattan Transfer and toured with the group for eight months while Cheryl was in treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Her songs have been performed by artists worldwide, including Karen Carpenter, Hiromi Ota, The Sweet Inspirations and Melba Moore. Her producing credits include her own solo CDs as well as 5 CDs for her aw ard winning a cappella group and national champions, The Accidentals (National Champions!).
Margaret is currently working on two theatrical projects in New York City, writing the scores for a new musical “Faraway Bayou” and a musical revue “Women Of A Certain Age” (for which she is also producing the CD).
